IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN DEPARTMENT

Y'know the old saying, "it takes a big man to say he's sorry?" Well, it takes an even bigger man to force that big man to apologize. And it takes someone bigger than Cecil Fielder to run the big man into a retirement home where he can currently be found drowning in his own drool.

Mr. Manners would like to issue the following apologies:

  1. Thinking Fellers Union Local 282
The quintet was castigated in Clyde Kane's column for a number of "business decisions," including touring with Live, playing the Cooler and hiring Peter Davis as their manager. The band have not hired Peter Davis as their manager. Any suggestion that TFUL 282 have exercised poor judgement was made only in jest by a very angry, lonely old man who probably has a brain tumor anyway.

  2. The Cooler
This venue was cited in the same column for unsafe and oxygen-free conditions. Nothing could be further from the truth -- it is a comfortable and hospitable venue to attend or play. We would like to publicly thank the proprietor for his hospitality, the drink tickets especially.

  3. Peter Davis
Clyde Kane incorrectly reported that TFUL282 hired Mr. Davis as their manager. Not only was this inaccurate, but it was implied that such a hiring would be a big mistake. In fact, Peter Davis has been nothing but a friend and supporter of many of this label's bands, and we greatly value his cooperation and good will.

  4. Touch & Go Records
A fictitious artist poll claimed that a sizeable percentage of Matador bands had signed to the label only because "Corey (Rusk) didn't return their phone call." We have no knowledge of this ever having taken place, and any suggestion that Mr. Rusk doesn't return phone calls is baseless. While many Matador signings are admittedly rejects from other labels, there is no evidence that any of them were passed on by Touch & Go.

  5. Hedda Nussbaum
Clyde Kane didn't write anything about this woman, but it's probably been a very long time since anyone apologized to her.
