12" Series and Subsequent Compilation Revealed:
When scheduling a series of hip hop 12"es, could there possibly be a better title for it than “The Matador Hip Hop 12" Series?” Of course there could, but we’re a little too late for your second guessing. How about some of you geniuses out there give us a hand before it’s too late next time? Here’s how the beginning of this series breaks down:

#1 Sensational — Party Jumpin’/Livin’ It Up
  OLE-471 — 7/25/00

#2 Large Professor — It’s About That Time/Liveguy Saga
  OLE-473 — 8/29/00

#3 Sensational — Beat Rhymes/Put It On
  OLE-472 — 9/26/00

#4 Large Professor — TBA
  OLE-474 — 10/31/00

More titles to be announced at a later date. We’re planning on a compilation CD of all of the above, plus more material sometime in 2001.

We’re always saying things like “we’re thrilled to announce an upcoming record by ____” and it isn’t as though we’ve ever lied in the past. But the thrill meter just went into the red zone and damn busted into pieces. Later in 2000, Matador will be releasing a new 12" by Large Professor, the pioneering MC/producer who earned his legendary status way back when he was fronting Main Source. Along with production credits that include early stuff by Gangstarr, Nas, Eric B & Rakim, Roxanne Shante, Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, Chris Lowe and too many others, Large Professor has been busy with some new solo stuff, including recent live performances and a great 12" collaboration with Neek The Exotic (“Rhymemania ’99”) that came out on the Replay label last fall. He’s also been doing some production work on the upcoming Non Phixion ‘The Future Is Now’ full length. When we’ve got more details, titles, dates, etc., we’ll let you know.
