Kinney Music = fledgling WEA I suppose – Steve Ross parking garage to record company saga right? Am I correct that that video is Canadian? Though I could detect an accent. Totally amazing.

I’m always amazed at how you recognize that stuff, Patrick. From what I gather, Warner’s expanded into Canada in 1967 with a Reprise of Canada imprint, then had to rename it “Kinney” because of some law they had amended in ’72, at which time they became WEA International. All of which dates this video pretty specifically to sometime between 1970 and 1972.
But none of this explains why that A&R guy has like, twenty names. Does he fit it all on one business card? Or is his business card the id equivalent of a double-gatefold album?
