I\\\’m very psyched for the record but…THAT\\\’S NOT THE REAL COVER IS IT?
October 17th, 2007 at 3:49 pm
Why wouldn’t it be? What’s wrong with that cover?
October 17th, 2007 at 4:58 pm
i was thinking the same thing about the cover! its just cheesy, i mean what the fuck is up with the fake mole on chans face? i dunno, i’m just not feeing it
October 17th, 2007 at 5:48 pm
I’m surprised nobody could convince her to record a full version of that Cat Stevens song from her diamond ad. Or will that be included on the deluxe edition?
October 18th, 2007 at 9:56 am
You guys are focusing on the wrong type of cover! Its the tunes that I am looking forward to!
October 18th, 2007 at 10:08 am
I think the cover is deliciously Warholian. I’m also excited about hearing her version of “I Lost Someone”, which is an obscure classic by JB.

why is amy winehouse on the cover of the upcoming cat power covers album?
October 18th, 2007 at 8:02 pm
That cover’s hot! What’s wrong with you people? Although I can’t explain the Winehousian mole.

Looking forward, especially the 2 disc version.
and lighten up folks, Chan’s just having some cover fun!!!

the cover is perfect, the songs are perfect and everything chan produces is the greatest.
November 23rd, 2007 at 8:00 am
a horrible cover, even worse than the greatest. trendy, backwards looking, 60s and 80s “inspired”/rip off. now that chan’s so famous, and after the crap of “the greatest”, strong feeling like this one’s going to be downloaded.

great tracks. does anyone know about the cat stevens cover? seems like that should have been included.
November 30th, 2007 at 1:21 pm
speaking of which..
do you think it’s going to be a Greatest-esque sound
or a more traditional Marshallian vibe this time around?
*crossing fingers for the latter*

the cover is excellent. what are you on about? great work Matador. I work in the industry and everyone I know loves it.
December 17th, 2007 at 1:52 pm
…and thats why the industry is crumbling.
January 5th, 2008 at 5:48 pm
I’m betting that’s a Sedgwickian mole to go with the Warholian cover.
Hot!

I don’t really have a problem with the cover, other than it looks like she’s butt-humping herself…and there should be a couple more copies of her butt-humping herself. Three is the MINIMUM.

why do people feel the need to dis artists who get recognition for being great. Sure, it was cool when only you knew who Cat Power was, but that doesnt make her more recent efforts worse than her older stuff. “Oh i liked her before she sold out” Sold out? The fact that you can support yourself with your music shouldn’t be a hinderance to your career. Tell me that “the greatest” isn’t as good, musically, as anything she’s ever done. There is no place in music, or anywhere else for that matter, for elitism. Good music is good music, period.

The cover is fantastic. And what’s with the negativity about The Greatest, Jimmy McGriffin? That album is outstanding.

I agree with Lee Dale. Amongst seeing the album cover, my first thought was “Edie Sedgwick,” which makes sense with the “Warholian” art. I tried looking at Edie images on Google to see if it’s a replica of an iconic Edie photo. Couldn’t find anything. Regardless, she looks great, and I like the throwback to old Warhol cover art.

Bought it today, the covers great, albums great. Yes they are having an educated throwback to the Warhol/Sedwick era with the photos and mole.
Seeing the first concert London tomorrow…..
Nice to see some art in the artwork, as well as the music.
Can I nominate the grammy now?

mang, no one’s concerned that she sold out. it’s fantastic when lots of people like good music. it’s just that cat power used to make interesting music, and now she makes adult contemporary songs for easy listening. what a shame.
