Design Your Own Love Of Diagrams Tee

By Gerard on Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

Or hoodie, tank top, shorts or badge.  Love Of Diagrams are currently touring the US with Enon, but if you miss the show and want to make your friends think you actually turned up (hint, hint), this might be the way to go.

The Greatest Moment Of The Fun Fun Fun Festival

By Gerard on Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

With ample respect for the terrific sets performed by Cat Power and Dirty Delta Blues (very smooth Jagger-at-Altamont impersonation by Greg), Don Cabellero, Poison Idea, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, Angry Samoans and the Cave Singers, my fondest memory of last weekend’s Fun Fun Fun Festival in Austin concerns the oh-so-fickle audience.
While Neko Case and Carl Newman (above, blocked by Dan Bejar in white) politely begged, nay, PLEADED in vain for a Rice Krispie treat from the Spider House cafe foodstand (the latter offering $20 for said delicacy), Don Cab’s venerable Damon Che’ — he of the other worldly Speaking Canaries — asked his adoring acolytes for some Tums. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone get a pack of Tums that fast without driving their truck into a Rexall.

Had It Not Already Been Used, We’d Submit The Title “Beating A Dead Horse”

By Gerard on Monday, November 5th, 2007

Were it possible to release a box set that featured Radiohead playing 7 albums that sounded exactly like ‘The Bends’, there’s every chance Parlophone would give it a shot. Maybe Xmas 2008?

The Worst Part Is, They’re Registered At Williams-Sonoma

By Gerard on Thursday, November 1st, 2007

Staff, management and the entire artist roster of Matador Records wish to congratulate Robyn Hitchcock and Chris Lombardi on their recent marriage.

It’s a hell of a way to avoid the draft, but immigrating to Canada’s not so easy.

We Wish A Very Happy Birthday To The Increasingly Awesome Miwa Okumura

By Gerard on Thursday, November 1st, 2007

The management & artist roster of Matador Records and Filmworks would like to wish Miwa all the best on this very special day.  We’re sorry about the misspelling of your name on the cake (above),  but we’re grateful the bakery got all of the other details right.
