I’m not sure what’s more amazing about this call — the game concept itself, or the fact that the woman at the other end takes it completely seriously.
This is, of course, the 4th midday MP3 from the Earles & Jensen prank-call double CD this week:
Kurt Loder Has Lost His Mind (mp3)
Click on these links for the previous three MP3s released this week:
#3: Barbara’s Husband Clears The Air
#2: Barbara: A Realistic Portrait
#1: Christopher Fucking Cross
The image at the top is one of the many fantastic depictions found in the colossal 64-page booklet jammed with drawings, photos and long-winded liner notes by over 35 big-name contributors including Gregg Turkington, Gerard Cosloy, Archer Prewitt, Jennifer Herrema, Devendra Banhart and many more.

In the third of our five-Earles & Jensen-MP3s-at-midday series this week, we present the sequel to yesterday’s call:
Barbara’s Husband Clears The Air (mp3)
(You need to hear Barbara: A Realistic Portrait, yesterday’s MP3, before listening to this one. Monday’s MP3 of Christopher Cross can be found here).

Jaguar Love – “Bats Over The Pacific Ocean” (mp3)
‘Take Me To The Sea’, the debut full length CD/LP from Jaguar Love will be available in stores & digital outlets on August 19. However, we’re previewing one of our favorite tracks from the album starting today (see above). In addition a self-titled CDEP featuring “Highways Of Gold” and two additional songs (one from album, one exclusive) will be available on June 3 (more details to follow).

Here’s the second of five Earles & Jensen MP3s we’re posting each day this week at 12:30 Eastern, for the countdown to album release on April 22. It’s about one woman’s fascination with the blues and is entitled:
Barbara: A Realistic Portrait (mp3)
(Yesterday’s MP3, the first, can be found here).

I’ll let Eddie Izzard introduce this follow up article on Stonehenge from The Guardian, who are presently excavating the sight to try and uncover what the sight was built for. (Hopefully not foundation blocks for a car park at a local Tesco’s supermarket mind you.)

Here are some extracts from Jonathan Franzen’s book ‘The Corrections” I dug out from my own copy;‘
Her musical tastes ran to John Prine and Etta James, and so Brian played Prine and James at home and saved his Bartok and Defunkt and Flaming Lips and Mission of Burma for blasting on his boom box at High Temp.‘ p.347
While Denise and Rob Zito were making hardware and lighting decisions at the Generator, Brian joined Schwartz and Ribisi et al. on location at soulful ruins in Nicetown, and swapped CDs with Schwartz from identical zippered CD carrying cases, and ate dinner at Pastis in New York with Schwartz and Greil Marcus or Stephen Malkmus.’ p.406

11:30 eastern, Tuesday evening. Dave’s other guest, Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona). The GOP nominee has been ducking Chan Marshall for years, and we’re pleased he’s finally seen fit to debate her in public.
Chan & friends will be performing “Metal Heart”. And on an unrelated note, here’s a snazzy poster for an upcoming show in Bogota.

This is as good a time as any to remind you Lee Ving can be seen in the upcoming motion picture, “Endless Bummer”, starring alongside Matthew Lillard, Joan Jett and Keith Morris. Would IMBD lie to you?
