Jay Reatard “Always Wanting More” PRE-ORDER Up NOW

June 16th, 2008 at 4:05 pm by Dean

Jay Reatard- OLE 818 Small

The third 7″ in Jay Reatard’s Matador singles series, “Always Wanting More b/w You Mean Nothing To Me”, is up for pre-order RIGHT NOW. Because of the extremely limited quantity of this record we will only honor one copy per customer.

The sleeve design, by Lindsay Shutt, comes in a clear plastic sleeve with Dangerhouse-style paper half-insert; the disc is clear one-sided vinyl with both tracks on the a-side and a silkscreen design printed directly onto the b-side. In short, ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. Note, because printing a record without a center label often results in an enlarged center hole, you’ll have to carefully center the record on the spindle before playing. We’re also including a FREE MP3 download of each song with purchase (a download coupon is enclosed with each record)

  2. Eric Neurotic Says:

Fuck you Matador!!! You said June 24th!!!!

    YOU LIE!!!!!

  3. Richard Says:

The final release in the series is going to be so limited, they aren’t even going to produce it. You’ll have to imagine what it sounds/looks like.

  4. James Says:

That is really lame to say the 24th and then preorders sell out, bastards

  5. Timmy Says:

PREORDERS sold out quite fast. Mine initially went through but ended up not being valid (since they were already out by the time mine came in).

However, I did get a copy at a REAL LIVE RECORD STORE yesterday evening. Imagine that.

  6. Dan Says:

Has anyone recieved their copy yet? My order seems to have gone through, but it’s past release date and I still havn’t been charged, so it must not have shipped out yet. Anybody?

  7. Mike Says:

I received my copy yesterday after sending an email to Dean at the matador store with my order number.

Ok, I’m kind of over the 3rd reatard issue, but I’m still pissed. I also preordered the morning of the 17th, only to be told I was too late. Then I preordered from Insound, only to have it cancelled. Then I ordered from Other Music, and they cancelled it two days later. So I’m shit out of luck, and really don’t want to spend $50 on ebay. What gives here? I doubt if any stores in philly stocked the damn thing, and I feel totally hosed. Any chance of a repress, or a shot of getting it on tour? he’s playing philly on the 14th of July, but I’m not optimistic. What’s a good customer to do? Can’t even imagine what the process will be for the 6th single. What are ya gonna do, randomly place 50 of ‘em around brooklyn and announce a scavenger hunt? But you got me, I really want them all. I can’t win.

i ordered it at like 5:15 on the 16th and haven’t gotten a copy yet. a friend ordered it a bit later that day and got a refund and told it sold out around 6pm. i emailed a coupla times with my order info but haven’t heard back. my card finally got charged on the 26th or so. hoping i might get it from matador, cause i figured i would be and didn’t go by any shops to get it and of course it’s gone now. fingers crossed! matadors been great in the past so i’m holding on to hope.
