Exclusive records AND live music…man, we rule!

April 16th, 2009 at 12:48 pm by Michael

Oh how we love thee, dearest Record Store Day.

As if a Live Pavement LP, a Sonic Youth/Jay Reatard 7″ AND a Sonic Youth/Beck 7″ weren’t enough, we’re spreading the love with some live instore performances.  If you live in or around Memphis or Columbus, be sure to check out Jay Reatard or Times New Viking kicking it RSD style.

Very excited about RSD, but one question: are the Matador exclusives going to be available everywhere on Saturday, or just in specific stores? I would love a copy of that Pavement LP so I want to make sure I go somewhere that’s going to have it!

  2. Brian Says:

…and by “everywhere,” I meant “everywhere participating in Record Store Day,” of course.

  3. Mike Says:

    Hey Brian,
We shipped RSD goodies to tons of stores across the country.
However, not every participating store brings in everything RSD has to offer. They generally bring in what they know they’re customers want.
So a store that carries mostly hardcore and metal isn’t exactly going to bring in that Jason Mraz t-shirt.
    Catch my drift??
Your best bet would be to call your local indie record store and ask what they’ll have (be specific).
Or you can just tell me which city your in and I’ll let you know what the closest store we’ve shipped to is.
And I’ll never end a preposition again. I swear.
    Cool?
    Mike

What about for those way too far away from participant stores?
