Patting Ourselves On The Back Is Our Business (And Business Is GOOD)

Matador’s ever cynical Patrick Amory describes the above honor as “a scam” but I prefer to accept the award in a gracious manner. You think someone’s calling up Mexican Summer trying to sell them a plexiglass plaque with a faux-presidential seal?  What’s Downtown’s trophy case looking like?   EAT OUR DUST, entertainment business, if some aspiring con men w/ a certificate in rudimentary photoshop  think we’re rich and self-obsessive enough to pay for this kind of bullshit, we’re gonna take it as a compliment.  You love us, you really love us!

Of course no one is going to be calling up Mexican Summer for that, I heard when you sell 5 song E.Ps for 20 dollars in “limited runs” it automatically puts you out of the race for “Best of Business” award. Sorry M.S. I had to say it.
