With our 21st birthday pending, Matador’s research department is currently combing thru microfilm, dental records and ancient shrouds for clues that might shed light on how exactly American’s Most Beloved Independent Label came to fruition. It’s a painstaking process — much like the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge, human lives have been lost.
