11/12/05 "My
First Time, Volume 3" iTunes single, more
A new Spoon track, "My First Time, Volume 3", the
first collaboration between Britt Daniel and the band's
current keyboardist/2nd guitarist Eric Harvey, will
be available from the iTunes Music Store in the UK and
Europe sometime very soon --- we hope next week, but
perhaps a week later (how's that for exact?). Said track
is currently available to US customers via iTunes and
the band's American label, Merge.
Following an appearance on PBS' Austin City Limits last
weekend, along with two sold out New York gigs, Spoon
will return to the scary world of commercial network
TV when they appear on NBC's Carson Daily Show December
6.

We're awaiting a signal from the mountaintop that
we'll be allowed to post the terrific new video for

--- it'll happen soon, we're sure of that. In the meantime,
the full routing for Spoon's autumn tour of the globe
can be found below. The band were just on CBS's "Late
Show With David Letterman" last night, the other guest
being the recently reprimanded Florida
Marlins batboy who drank a gallon of milk as part of
a $500 dare. Somewhere in the state of New Jersey,
Kenneth Keith
Kallenbach is feeling cheated.

Turn My Camera On" video
Directed by Autumn de Wilde, this video is now available
from the music and video page.
The band will shortly be shooting a video for "Sister
Jack."
06/08/05 Video
still coming — soon!
Currently thriling sold out crowds throughout the
US as they tour in support of 'Gimme Fiction', the album's
first video, a clip for "I Turn My Camera On" should
be available here very soon. Recently confirmed as headliners
of July 16's Siren Festival at Coney Island, Spoon are
planning their return to Europe for next September.
04/28/05 Touring,
shooting, challenging
After a whirlwind 3 weeks supporting Interpol across
Europe, Spoon are back in the USA, finishing work on
the video for "I Turn My Camera On", and preparing for
their appearance at this weekend's Coachella festival.
A full scale North American tour (with the Clientele
supporting) runs through late June, and we're hopeful
that Spoon will be returning to Europe at the end of
the Summer. In the meantime, 'Gimme Fiction' is out
May 9 in the UK, Europe and Australia (a bit later in
Japan), and May 10 in North America through our friends
at Merge. It is no understatement when we proclaim said
album to be one of the more challenging, packed-with-ideas,
life affirming rock'n'roll recordings you can allow
into your skull. Every couple of years this fantastic
band emerges with yet another masterpiece that tops
their previous efforts, and this time is no exception.
03/30/05 First
MP3 from 'Gimme Fiction'
The first MP3 from 'Gimme Fiction' is entitled "I
Turn My Camera On" and is downloadable from the
music page.
01/24/05 Spoon
signs to Matador outside US and Canada
We're very happy to announce that on May 9, Matador
Records will be releasing the 5th album by Austin, TX's
SPOON, 'Gimme Fiction' (OLE 660 CD/LP), worldwide with
the exception of North America. The album is coming
out on May 10 in the US and Canada via Merge.

the tracklisting is as follows:
The Beast and Dragon, Adored
The Two Sides of Monsieur Valentine
I Turn My Camera On
My Mathematical Mind
The Delicate Place
Sister Jack
I Summon You
The Infinite Pet
Was It You?
They Never Got You
Merchants of Soul
writes the band:
"Gimme Fiction is the wildest Spoon LP to date
- it's also Jim Eno's favorite. It was put to tape from
July 'til September 2004, and like our last two albums
it was co-produced with Mike McCarthy in Austin at Jim's
Public HiFi studio. What else. . .it begins with the
sound of a nice, long inhale and ends with the Tosca
Strings. It covers such topics as long distance relationships,
the apocalyptic bent of certain American Southerners,
neckrugs, emotional shutdowns, Ralph Reed Jr., a musical
called The Stranger Dance, and Marquette, Michigan.
Did I mention it's the longest Spoon record yet?
"In February we'll be playing the Saturday of All
Tomorrow's Parties in Camber Sands, England, followed
by a headlining show in London on Monday the 28th at
the Garage."
