The MataBlog is edited by Matador Records’ co-moaner Gerard Cosloy and individual entries are the work of whoever’s name is next to them. If you enjoyed something in the MataBlog, thank you very much! If there was something you found particularly troubling, please be advised that a) maybe you should read it again and b) the contents of this blog do not necessarily represent the opinions of Matador Records, Beggars Group, the combined staff of either company, nor the Matador artist roster. Opinions are like friends — hardly anyone has one worth listening to.

Tonight : Body/Head In L.A. Supporting Sleater-Kinney

Just a reminder the duo of Kim Gordon and Bill Nace, aka Body/Head (shown above) are playing at the Hollywood Palladium tonight prior to the reunited Sleater-Kinney (tickets). Beloved-by-some revivalist Ian Rubbish plays first of three.

In addition, Body/Head will be appearing at Calgary's Sled Island Festival in late June.

Algiers - "Black Eunuch", Headlining North American Dates In June

The latest track from Algiers' forthcoming self-titled debut album, "Black Eunuch" debuted on Mary Anne Hobbs' Radio One program Monday, followed by a U.S. premiere on NPR's "All Songs Considered" yesterday. "Politically-charged gospel of the highest order; ignore it to your own detriment," argues Stereogum's Caitlin White, and if forced to pick sides, we're decidedly against anything detrimental. It doesn't matter how many times we warn you, 'Algiers' is still gonna be the most surprising album of 2015.

After a string of previously announced May dates supporting Interpol, Algiers are headlining a series of North American club shows, with ticket links found below.
