The MataBlog is edited by Matador Records’ co-moaner Gerard Cosloy and individual entries are the work of whoever’s name is next to them. If you enjoyed something in the MataBlog, thank you very much! If there was something you found particularly troubling, please be advised that a) maybe you should read it again and b) the contents of this blog do not necessarily represent the opinions of Matador Records, Beggars Group, the combined staff of either company, nor the Matador artist roster. Opinions are like friends — hardly anyone has one worth listening to.

7 Days In The L-Shaped Van

"After a two year break between European tours, Ceremony crossed the pond this summer for a sprint across the continent.

In a roundabout way Ceremony helped me get a full time job doing something that I love, so naturally when they came over I had to figure out a way to ditch work, shirk all responsibility and get in the van with them.

Maybe I could be the runner? The merch guy? Drunkenly help manage the tour? De facto tour clown?

In the end I convinced the powers that be to let me take some photos.

Josh”

The kid-tested, Big Bear-approved Beggars Group CMJ Party (not to be confused with the Matador/True Panther jam happening the following night) goes down Thursday, October 22 at Bowery Electric (327 Bowery) from 11pm to the wee hours of the morning, and will feature, among other things, a DJ set by the one and only Gerard Cosloy. RSVP does NOT guarantee entry so please, for the love of God, get there early so we can rage together.

Bleachy Tonight Dance Mix

We are having some serious party moments in eager anticipation of the release of Earles & Jensen's "Just Farr A Laugh Vol. 1+2" on May 6th. We've been looping the sampler, rifling through our legal documents, and sending out pre-orders. That said, everyone knows that a party isn't a party without some bonafide DANCE MUSIC (and pizza). Thanks to Mixmasters AeFlo, DJ Rainstick, and the words of our fave E& J character, Bleachy we've filled this vacuum...Glowsticks required!

You can still PRE-ORDER "Just Farr A Laugh Vol. 1+2" and get a few dollars off of purchase and a free poster!
