SAVAGES ANNOUNCE BIGGEST LONDON SHOW YET

After a victorious weekend playing at Reading and Leeds festival, Savages announce their biggest London show yet at the 02 Academy Brixton on 25th November, and another show at Norwich's Nick Rayns venue on 23rd November, to celebrate an outstanding year following the release of their second album Adore Life in January, which is also nominated for this year's Mercury Prize.
Tickets for these shows go on general sale this Friday 2nd September at 9am (BST). Link for the London show here, and for Norwich here.

ANNOUNCEMENT: SAVAGES NOMINATED FOR 2016 MERCURY PRIZE
Savages' second album Adore Life, released in January of this year, has been nominated for this year's Hyundai Mercury Prize, after their first album Silence Yourself was also nominated for the prize back in 2013. The public are invited to vote online at the Mercury Prize website. Voting opens at 12pm (GMT) on Thursday 4th August and closes at 11:59pm (GMT) on Friday 12th August. Get your votes in people!
The band are currently on their way back to European soil to play a series of festival dates shortly after supporting LCD Soundsystem at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. All dates are below.

Savages and Car Seat Headrest at Pitchfork Festival This Weekend
(above - not a poster for the Pitchfork Festival)
Just a reminder for those attending this weekend's Pitchfork Festival in Chicago's Union Park that Savages are playing on the Green Stage Saturday at 4:15pm, while Car Seat Headrest are making their (domestic) P4K fest debut on the Red Stage Friday afternoon at 3:30pm. In addition, Car Seat Headrest are at the Empty Bottle Saturday night at midnight and while advance tickets are sold out, a limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
If the above events aren't to your liking, Disturbed, Korn, Breaking Benjamin, Drowning Pool, Asking Alexandria and some version of Page Hamilton's Helmet are taking part in a craft beer exposition in Bridgeview, IL this weekend. I'm told tickets are very much available (which is probably a familiar refrain whenever Drowning Pool are playing), so use that information as you see fit.

SAVAGES CURATED FESTIVALS: SONIC CITY + LE GUESS WHO?
(photo credit: Ramon Palacios-Pelletier)That's right folks. As if they haven't given you enough already, Savages will also bring to you two undoubtedly phenomenal line-ups for this year's Sonic City Festival and Le Guess Who? Festival.
The first of these, Sonic City, will take place in Kortrijk in Belgium on 12th and 13th of November 2016. Last year saw the festival curated by the Canadian group formerly known as Viet Cong (now Preoccupations) which featured bands such as The Thurston Moore Band, Bo Ningen and Protomartyr, amongst others. Savages will no doubt bring another impressive line-up – which is yet to be announced. Early bird tickets have already sold out. More info below.

This Afternoon : SAVAGES on "Ellen"

Those of us who are long in the tooth can remember when a young Ellen DeGeneres was entrusted with propping up the career of contemporary art's 2nd most prominent mercury poisoning victim (Graham Parker being the first), Jeremy Piven. Of course, Ellen's come an incredibly long way since then, fighting off a strong challenge from Matador office favorite, "Hot Bench", to become the modern day ruler of daytime television. Tuesday marks yet another highlight in Ellen's afternoon tenure when she welcomes Savages to her syndicated chat show, along with crowd-pleasing star of "Joe Dirt" and "Joe Dirt 2", David Spade. The program airs at 4pm eastern, but please check your local listings because we cannot be expected to learn the names of every regional broadcaster. In New York, that's Channel 4 (WNBC), in Los Angeles Channel 4 (KNBC). Hey, if you live in flyover country, at least the gas is cheaper.

The last time Savages played in New York was in January of last year. They played all over the city much of the month in the brutal weather to write and test out new material in small venues. It was an incredible time to be able to see the songs morph over those weeks and then to later in the year hear Adore Life completed. Tonight and tomorrow the band will be played again to crowds in New York. This is only the beginning of the band's massive upcoming tour.

It seems like only yesterday when we announced the upcoming album from Savages, Adore Life. In case you're wondering it was October 21st. Since then, the band have: played shows big and small around the world, put out two videos ("The Answer" and "Adore") and as of earlier this week - performed songs from the new album on television. Oh, and in case you missed it - a fellow Jimmy Kimmel guest this week, Elton John, proclaimed that he thinks Savages are... Well you have to watch the clip to find out.
